Sustainability has been a fad in the travel world for a while. More and more tour operators continue the switch to green initiatives when planning their schedules. Continue reading “Sustainability is Good for Business”
Another trip down memory lane from my visit to Rome. I was walking passed the Pantheon one morning and came across this busker. Even though it was quite warm, did not prevent her performance. As I stood listening it confirmed again for me the people we meet during our travels make travel even more enriching. Continue reading “Roman Summer”
I came across an article recently on Facebook about travel being a real addiction. A doctor was quoted in the piece confirming just that. But I have to disagree with that diagnosis. Because for me, travel is a lifestyle choice. Continue reading “Travel: Addiction or Lifestyle?”
I loved the message on this staircase as soon as I saw it. A perfect photo opportunity as I turned the corner on a narrow, winding cobble stoned street of Chora, Mykonos . It is a subtle, yet inspiring message that rings true. Success comes in many forms and holds different meaning to each individual, whether it be personal, career or family. There is no easy path to achieve your goals. A lot of hard work, perseverance and a belief in your own abilities are critical to achieving your goals.
Ideas can come from anywhere even the movies. We see a city highlighted in one of our favourite movies and feel it drawing us to explore more. This is one method I use when choosing my next destination. Movies I feel are inspirational or I can connect with the characters’ thoughts and ambitions. Continue reading “Movie Inspired Travel”
Welcome to 2016. A year filled with new adventures, hopes and dreams. As it is a new year I have given my blog a fresh new look for 2016. A big thank you to all my readers for following along on my travel adventures and tales. I have also enjoyed reading your own blogs and personal stories. When I started this blog over a year ago I never imagined how big the blogging community would be. There are so many talented writers around the world all connected by the web, a passion to write and sharing stories just like a family.
In 2016 I wish everyone a successful year in achieving the goals you have set but also to have fun along the way. Quite often we get caught up in matters beyond our control over and forget about things that are important to us. Not just in a travel sense but also within our own lives. It is a time to reflect on our events and achievements of last year and move forward to build on our dreams and aspirations.
I am not a fan of making a list of new year resolutions that are at risk of not being realistic or achievable. This year I will focus progressing a few writing projects that have been waiting in the wings. I will also be adding some new features to my blog this year, so stay tuned.
Cobblestone paths. Narrow lane ways. Old Lyon is magical. Sitting in a cafe sipping a cappuccino after a full day of tourist activity is a welcome reward. I love France. I try to put it on my itinerary whenever I go to Europe. I could live there. Continue reading “Lyon Cafés and Culture”
