Pirates of Mykonos

The narrow twists and turns of Mykonos’ streets were designed in a way to confuse the pirates who roamed the high seas of the Mediterranean centuries ago. Continue reading

Summer in Mykonos

This week is a trip down memory lane to last summer in Mykonos.  Not only was the weather perfect, but I visited some of the best beaches with the clearest blue waters.  While we have some great beaches in Australia, it is a different world in Greece that should be on everyone’s travel list. Imagine yourself reclining on a beach lounge, sipping your favourite icy cold drink and taking in the electric atmosphere around you. Continue reading

Photo of the Month: Stairs to Success

I loved the message on this staircase as soon as I saw it.  A perfect photo opportunity as I turned the corner on a narrow, winding cobble stoned street of Chora, Mykonos .  It is a subtle, yet inspiring message that rings true. Success comes in many forms and holds different meaning to each individual, whether it be personal, career or family.  There is no easy path to achieve your goals.  A lot of hard work, perseverance and a belief in your own abilities are critical to achieving your goals.

Photo of the Month: Waves of Mykonos

Mykonos, also known as the island of wind, and last summer was no exception.  It was my first trip to Greece and I was imagining perfect weather, golden beaches and warm waters. Well two out of the three were not bad.  Mother Nature had decided that she would send strong winds as well.  However, it does make for a great photo this month as the waves crash up against the sea wall of Little Venice providing a new perspective to the famous windmills of Mykonos. Watch you step!

Movie Inspired Travel

Ideas can come from anywhere even the movies.  We see a city highlighted in one of our favourite movies and feel it drawing us to explore more.  This is one method I use when choosing my next destination. Movies I feel are inspirational or I can connect with the characters’ thoughts and ambitions. Continue reading

Beach Vibes

The beach life in Greece is different – very different to how we experience it back home.  Here it is a different culture.  It feels great to relax on the beach where you are served your drinks and meals direct to your sun bed.  There is also music played across the beach in similar style to that of the clubs visited the night before.  The Beach Clubs on the beaches of Mykonos feel sophisticated and fun. Continue reading

The Oracle – Counselor or Crazy

Everyone loves to hear stories of the gods and goddesses of ancient Greece. Yet little did  we know how crazy these stories were.  On a tour of mainland Greece, I was fortunate  to hear about some of these stories – even some I was not aware of. Continue reading

It’s Not Goodbye When The Tour Ends

A tour is sometimes the best option if you are unfamiliar with a new destination.  Or if you want to sample the main highlights of a region to decide if it is worth a return visit. But most of all it is the best way to meet different people from across the world who share the same passion for travel as you. Continue reading
