Photo of the Month: A Wild and Rugged Admiral

A trip to Kangaroo Island is not complete without a visit to the south-western most point of the island. Here you will find an impressive natural rock formation called Admiral’s Arch.

Brave the strong winds and navigate the boardwalk down to the viewing platform for a closer view of the stalactites hanging from the rocky cave roof.  Watch the waves crash against the smooth, floor of the Arch.  The natural shape of the Arch was formed over thousands of years by wind and waves beating against the rocky coastline.

Admiral’s Arch is also the favourite playground for playful New Zealand seals.  They breed on the land and hunt for food in the water.  If you are lucky you may just spot one of these gorgeous seals lazing on the rocks below.
